Hair is elastic and stretches even more when it’s wet. It’s this extra stretch that makes it vulnerable to damage when wet. If you’re experiencing breakage or want to prevent future damage, make sure that you’re handling your wet hair gently.
* Blot hair dry. One thing that isn’t gentle is aggressive towel drying.
* Comb out tangles. As mentioned above, wet hair is stretched more than normal so pulling at it with a brush will result in snapping and breakage.
* Start with low heat. Low heat drying and finger combing prevents extra breakage. Dry hair half way like this before switching to a brush.
Last week we visited the BlowPro offices for a sneak peak at a new product and received this special tip from Gregory Patterson, Global Educator at Blow, The New York Blow Dry Bar: Brush your hair before getting in the shower when it's still dry!
This boosts the performance of your shampoo and conditioner by helping it reach every strand and limits tangles post shower.
Keep an eye out next week when we share our review of their new product, it’s a game changer.
