We're coming up on one of my favorite holidays - Thanksgiving - with all the family and feasting. My husband Bob and I used to think our Thanksgiving dinners were pretty quiet when we only invited our own children, but now with five active (and hungry) grandkids,
the holiday is plenty lively. I'll add canned green beans from the vegetable garden to our big meal, and I'm making good use of the herb garden's offerings to make our turkey and dressing even more flavorful. And of course I love being able to drink all the warm cider I want.
Our feast will round out a glorious fall here in Cleveland. The trees did their best at outdoing one another with their red and gold colors, and the mild weather's been almost springlike. Maybe this means we'll have another light winter like last year. I can almost hear you saying, "Dream on, Sue!"
This was a big year for Bob and me, as we celebrated our 40th anniversary. Our kids put themselves in charge, inviting all our friends and family to join us for a party at the same community hall Bob and I had our wedding reception all those years ago. Forty years is the "ruby anniversary" and the hall was decked out in gorgeous earthy reds with roses and red velvet cake. I hope the guests thought I'd aged as well as that beautiful room. I told the kids they shouldn't have gone to all the trouble, but I don't think they believed me, I was smiling so much.
I hope you find some time to enjoy a meal with with loved ones this Thanksgiving, and to reflect on what you're grateful for. Good friends, loving family, and health are on my list, and along with everyone else at AmeriMark, I'm thankful to have wonderful customers like you.
