Is It Safe to Work Out Twice in a Day?

Email sent: Jul 9, 2013 10:00 am

When training for a fitness goals, consider scheduling two workouts in one day to maximize results.

Working out twice in one day seems like it’s for elite athletes only, but double sessions can help recreational athletes achieve goals and train for competitions or races. Just be smart about it — vary the intensity of the workouts (aka no 10-mile run followed by an hour-long swim), fuel up properly before and after, and pencil in regular rest time. Keep in mind that overtraining can lead to injury, and also that feeling the need to work out constantly could be a sign of exercise addiction, a psychological disorder.
