Go ahead, nerd out over the weekend. Becoming a regular reader can signal that you’re more empathetic to others. 

Can’t get enough Harry Potter or Katniss Everdeen? It might mean you’re a better person. Studies show that people who enjoy novels are more empathetic, which can make them more compassionate and understanding friends. Researchers believe the ability to relate to a fictional character carries over into real life, making fiction readers better at seeing a problem or conflict from another person’s perspective.
