AD/ MEZCAL CASK

Another exciting release from Ardnamurchan distillery which has been crafted from peated spirit (30PPM) distilled in 2017 and matured in bourbon barrels then finished in Mezcal casks for over 18 months. A first for Ardnamurchan distillery, which should go down a storm, a low outturn for this release, bottled at 50% vol.

Nose: 

Green, grassy, vegetal. Immediate sense of the Mezcal spirit. This quickly dissipates, opening the door to fresh, crisp, Granny Smith apples. Green bananas. Resilient, ashy smoke.

Palate: 

Bright, herbaceous, eucalyptus. Chalky, mineralic, seashore essence. Olive brine, salty capers and flat-leaf parsley. A weighty, fatty dram with an earthy backbone.

Finish:

Gentle wisps of integrated smoke. Creamy, sweet aftertaste. Earthy.
