ACLU Action

Hi ACLU Supporter

You've shown extraordinary optimism and resilience in the face of grave threats to our rights and liberties over the past year. You've exemplified what we mean when we say "We the People": We don't give up. And when we face setbacks, we gather together and act.

That's what we did when Donald Trump became president one year ago: We took to the streets for the Women's March, the biggest single-day protest in U.S. history. We changed the narrative channeling our fear into strength and hope.

Now it's 2018, and the threat that Donald Trump posed to immigrants, women, communities of color, and the most vulnerable has been realized. But we've also found our voice, and leaned into our collective power to defend and expand our basic constitutional rights and freedoms. People like you are connecting with neighbors, coworkers, friends and family to share ideas and make commitments for the year ahead.

Join us for Gather, March, Act as we mark one year of fighting for civil liberties in the Trump era. Find a local ACLU People Power gathering, host your own, and then take to the streets.
(This link will take you to our People Power website.)

From defending immigrants to supporting women's reproductive rights, there are countless ways to fight for our freedoms this year. We need to let the Trump administration know that we won't give up. There's a lot of work to do and it all starts with YOU.

No matter where you live, you can recommit to this fight. Learn more about Gather, March, Act and get involved in your community.

A lot has happened in just one year and we have met each moment head-on. Let's keep it up in 2018 and show that we're not backing down. Our democracy depends on people like you coming together and defending our rights and freedom with everything we've got.

In solidarity,

Faiz Shakir, Director, ACLU National Political Director
