Balmoral Show

The Balmoral Show is Northern Ireland's largest agricultural event and this year Age NI will have an exciting stand to meet the thousands of people who attend.

Running over four days, 10-13 May, the Balmoral Show will provide an exciting mix of food, farming excellence and showmanship alongside an exhilarating entertainment schedule. The Age NI stand will showcase the best information, advice, services and products available to older people in Northern Ireland.

Our Advice team will be on hand to help with any queries you may have about benefits, care, health & housing. Find out about the Age NI Personal Alarm, and enter our competition to win a Personal Alarm!

Bathroom aids will be on display, which can help support safe, independent living in your own home. Other products include home, car & travel insurance and funeral plans.

Enter the quarterly prize draw for £1,000. There is also a chance to win a Deluxe Hamper by guessing the number of little knitted hats inside the tall display case!

The Balmoral Show takes place at Balmoral Park, Lisburn between Wednesday 10 and Saturday 13 May 2017. Opening times are 9.30am - 6pm (Wed, Fri and Sat) and 9.30am - 8pm (Thurs). Tickets cost from £2 to £18.

Age NI launched a new fundraising campaign this week at Connswater Shopping Centre in Belfast.

Our campaign will visit most of the major shopping centres in Northern Ireland during May, June and July. We hope the campaign will help us generate a sustainable income to support our vital work with older people in NI.

An 'In Memory' donation asks friends. family and colleagues to make a donation instead of flowers at a funeral, raising vital funds to support older people in need of Age NI's services.

Royal British Legion External Grants
Closing date: 12 May 2017

Older Peoples Fund
Funding between £500-£3,000 for local community projects by older people.
Closing date: 15 May 2017

George Best Belfast City Airport Community Fund
Projects within North Down & Greater Belfast area focusing on Community, Social or Environment project. Grants between £300-£10,000. Closing date: 15 June 2017.
Community Pharmacy Partnership funding
Up to £2,000 available. Closing date: September 2017
Halifax Foundation for Northern Ireland
Average grant awarded £3,000-£4,000.

Heritage Lottery Fund – Sharing Heritage
Grants between £3,000 - £10,000.

Royal Voluntary Service – National Sheds Fund
