Supporter Newsletter - May Edition

It's hard to believe that summer is on the horizon.

In this edition of our Supporter Newsletter, you can read how our day centres are a vital support service for people like Donald, who are isolated. Donald is kindly sharing his story as part of our Summer Appeal, to encourage people to give what they can to support older people like him who have no one else to turn to.

You'll also read about the amazing ways you've been supporting us this year, and how you can join us as we celebrate our inspirational volunteers during Volunteers' Week.

As always, we are so grateful for your support. Whether you read our Newsletter, support us through fundraising or give up your time to volunteer, it all makes a difference.

Thank you,
Team Age NI

Summer Appeal - Your support means the world to people like Donald

"The staff at the day centre have given me a tremendous amount of support. They’ve given me a new outlook on life and being here has done wonders for me. The staff and volunteers are absolutely first class"

Sadly, Donald became extremely isolated after his wife passed away. Spending time at an Age NI day centre has helped him to turn his life around.

Your support means everything to an older person like Donald.

If you can, please donate to our Summer Appeal today and help us provide emotional support, care and advice to vulnerable older people living in Northern Ireland.

Belfast City Marathon 2019

A huge thank you to everyone who ran for Age NI in the Belfast City Marathon on Sunday 5th May.

Whether you did the walk, relay or ran the full thing, we really appreciate your support.

By fundraising for Age NI, you're helping us to continue providing care, support and advice to older people across Northern Ireland. Thank you so much.

Independence and peace of mind

“My parents are getting older and as a family, we were worried in case something happened when we weren’t there. An Age NI Personal Alarm really gives us peace of mind, that if they need it, they can get help quickly.

What’s good about an Age NI Personal Alarm is that you are also supporting Age NI’s valuable work, helping them to provide advice, care and support to older people who have no one else to turn to."

Volunteers' Week

We're taking part in Volunteers' Week, from 1st - 7th June, and we want you to celebrate with us!

The theme for this year’s campaign is Time to Celebrate and we'll be using this as an opportunity to thank and celebrate each and everyone who volunteers for Age NI.

Check us out on social media during the week, as we'll be sharing just a few stories from our amazing volunteers, about why they give up their time to help older people.

Why not share your volunteering story with us too? Don't forget to tag us and use the hashtags #VolunteersWeek #TimeToCelebrate
