We put together some looks showing our new cardigans in the most accessible way possible: Two dudes (Jacob and Brian, both former teachers) from our office wearing their own clothes from their closets.
We like aspirational photo shoots as much as anyone, but this product is best demonstrated straightforward.
Below is tutorial on how the cardigan will react with your clothes, and how it can augment what you already have.
The cardigan can change the temperature of an outfit.
It can either add more heat or cool it off a little if you want to keep things casual and mellow.
One thing we learned; keep the top and bottom consistent.
If your pants are on the baggy side, wear the cardigan oversized. In other words, be symmetrical. If you're wearing slim pants, keep the cardigan slim.
Brian is shown in a size Large on the left - and a Medium on the right.
The cardigan is a worthy substitute for a blazer.
It can ground your outfit and make it look complete but doesn’t have the fussy connotations of tailored clothing. As we learned during our shoot, there's need to button it, and it doesn’t have to be super fitted, in fact it can really shine with a little slouch.
While an oversized look isn’t necessarily sloppy, a cardigan atop some baggy jeans makes it definitely not sloppy.
More like, intentionally casual. Call it casual prep.
