For folks willing to spend some coin on a t-shirt - fit is super important. This can't be an undershirt. It can't be paper thin, or wrinkly out of the wash. Your shirt cannot demote itself quickly to gym or sleep wear.
The Interlock Tee effectively avoids that typical t-shirt cycle - in large part because of its elite interlock stitching technique.
Interlock is a double knit construction with back loops knitted together and alternated wales. The front and back sides of the fabric are identical - which makes them smooth. Interlock is thicker, denser (almost double the yarn), and more stable than plain jersey. It doesn't curl at the edges and holds shape well. It also feels absurdly soft.
Extra-long staple cotton fibers ensure these shirts are stronger, silkier, and resistant to pilling.
