Classic Styles Designed to Perform in Every Environment
We had the good fortune to send some of our frames to Iceland with our friends Colin and Connor from The Coyote Collective this winter to capture some truly awe-inspiring photography. Along with delivery some top notch photos featuring our sunglasses and new Active x Optical, they were nice enough to tell us more about their trip. Read more below.
Iceland is a land of extremes, and we chose the harshest time of year to visit. We knew the short window of daylight, cold temperatures, and relentless winds would nearly guarantee solitude along the South Coast, a region thronged with tourists in the summer.
Our goal was to capture the majesty of the region in a literally different light, using the nearly static sun position to create unique shots while running, ice climbing, and exploring the vast glaciers looming above the sea. We visited glacier-strewn beaches, hidden waterfalls, and wavelike lava beds extending for miles to meet the fjords.
We used the sunglasses for every mission. They protected my eyes from ice shards while climbing out of the crevasses on Vatnajokull, Europe’s largest glacier, and looked perfectly at home strolling down Laugavegur, the hip shopping district of Iceland’s capital. We appreciated the stylish looks, of course, but were even more impressed by the thoughtful, action-focused details: spring flex hinges, durable acetate, and scratch resistant lenses. After two weeks among the rugged conditions of the South Coast, our shades still looked as good as new.
A special thank you to The Coyote Collective, Colin Rex, Connor Koch, and everyone involved in this trip. Find all the styles their team was equipped with on our website.
