The Article One Active x Optical collection was created to extend the same ethos and design sense of our ACTIVE sun collection into the optical category. For this technical performance collection, we are using a new material called GKM. GKM is a polymer plastic – proprietary to our family-owned factory partners in Northern Italy – that is lighter, more flexible, and more scratch resistant than acetate.
Along with the innovative frame material, we have designed and developed new nose pads specific for this collection, which accomplish the same grip as our ACTIVE sunglasses while remaining hidden and discrete on smaller optical frames. The Active Optical frames also boast high-quality spring hinges and engraved ridges on the temple tips to assist with grip. Beyond a new innovative material and high-quality performance features, our five-piece handcrafted collection is timelessly styled to seamlessly transition from fashion to function.
