Endpoints, and those who secure them, have a vulnerability problem.

Welcome to The Vault.

In May, Trend Micro and potentially other major endpoint security vendors were breached. Enterprise level attacks are nothing new, but the prospect of security providers themselves being vulnerable may erode trust in those that they protect.

We also witnessed Baltimore fall victim to a ransomware attack, the second against the city in less than two years. The attack has brought the city to its knees, "Government emails are down, payments to city departments can't be made online and real estate transactions can't be processed." So far the attack has cost the city $18.2 million.

Unfortunately, the call to better secure endpoints is nothing new. A report from the Ponemon Institute last year highlighted that, endpoint attacks from 2017 to 2018 were up 54% and of those attacks 79% of organizations said that the breaches were caused by zero-day threats.

Guard Government Services Mock Up

Traditional endpoint solutions are limited in their ability to stop zero day attacks. As cyber criminals grow in number and knowledge, they'll continue to exploit this fundamental weakness.

In this whitepaper we explore a different approach. One that stresses prevention over detection; and cost savings and simplicity, over complexity - read it here.

Term of the Month:

An internet capable computer hardware device. The term is commonly applied to desktop computers, laptops, thin clients, printers and other specialized hardware such as point-of-sale systems and ATMs.
