Welcome to The Vault.

There has been a lot of talk lately about getting "back to business" and what normal looks like "in the wake of the pandemic." Fatigue surrounding the precautions and altered lifestyle caused by the ongoing crisis is beginning to cause complacency when serious physical and virtual threats are still compromising health, safety and business integrity.

We are not seeing any signs of flattening the curve in terms of cyberattacks. In fact, according to a recent report  ransomware instances (captured malicious files and code) have shot up 105% since the beginning of the pandemic. Cybercriminals are out in full force with new and constantly evolving techniques to exploit vulnerabilities and evade detection.

Through this period of uncertainty and transition, cybersecurity must remain a top priority. With a distributed workforce and more endpoints than ever accessing secure networks, cybersecurity leaders should look to employ a Zero Trust methodology to limit access, secure confidential data and closely monitor and record all network traffic. If you have any questions about specific threats, concerns about gaps in your security infrastructure, or comments about what would be most helpful to you during this time, feel free to contact to our team

Resource of the Month:

Establishing Secure Remote Access for Industrial Control Systems

Precautions to limit the spread of COVID-19 caused countless offices to close and an unprecedented number of employees to work from home. The rush to accommodate these remote work environments forced a rapid digital transformation for a wide range of industries, and in effect created countless vulnerabilities and gaps in network security.

As our reliance on the availability and integrity of remote operations increases, so must our understanding of the security in place to protect critical systems. Industries such as manufacturing, water, transportation and energy are essential and a ransomware attack that disrupted any of these operations during this pandemic could be devastating.

Read our solution brief outlining the challenges, requirements, and options available to ensure that your industrial control operations are as secure as possible.
