Bad news? This entrepreneur turned hers into a booming business
Our latest Shopify success story, Pimp My Diabetes View this email in your browser Hello there! Ever hear the expression: “When life gives you lemons, make yourself a margarita”? Well, something like that. Anyway, this week I sat down with Edda, a young entrepreneur who was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at the age of 33. As she began educating herself about the disease and looking for ways to manage it, she quickly discovered that while access to medical supplies wasn’t an issue, what was available was, well, boring. A naturally creative and stylish person, Edda decided to take matters into her own hands and design her own. In 2017, she officially launched her ecommerce company, Pimp My Diabetes, which sells everything from decorative stickers for devices, to funky jewelry, snazzy bags for diabetes supplies and other accessories. At 500+ orders a month and tens of thousands of social media followers, it’s pretty clear Edda found a market that was ripe for the picking. I found Edda’s story to be inspirational and I’m confident that you will too!
