What Is The Bulletproof Diet?
The Bulletproof diet is a diet based on cyclical ketosis. It’s a diet that pairs the concept and value of “you are what you eat” (food quality and food source) with cyclical keto. Keto is a high-fat diet that changes how your body converts food into energy. Cyclical keto means you allow for one day a week to incorporate clean carbs into your meals. This lets your body dip out of ketosis briefly while supplying your body with the carbohydrates it needs to support all of its system functions. The Bulletproof Diet is all about eating quality fats like the ones found in MCT Oils, eggs, meat, seafood, and avocados to amp up your body’s fat burning ability.
How Is The Bulletproof Diet Broken Down?
The Bulletproof Diet is broken down into 9 sections, including dairy, starch, fruit, vegetables, sweeteners, protein, and beverages to name a few. It then places food in those categories along a spectrum that ranges from Bulletproof (awesome enough to eat all the time) to toxic (foods that are not going to serve your body and goals very well). For instance Grass-Fed Ghee would rank as Bulletproof on the spectrum, while condensed or evaporated milk would rank on the toxic end.
When Do I Eat?
On the Bulletproof Diet Roadmap you’ll also find a when to eat and when to fast chart to make everything even easier! It depends on your goals: if you're looking for moderate weight management and an energy boost there is one schedule chart and if you’re looking to burn fat and upgrade your focus there is another. For instance, the charts will let you know what the best hours of the day are to be drinking your Bulletproof Coffee (hint: it’s in the morning) and which hours are optimal for consuming fruits or starch (hint: not the morning).
