1961 Bugs Bunny Half Dollar
PCGS MS64 FS-401
The "Bugs Bunny" Franklin is one of the most well known varieties of Franklin Half Dollars. It's the result of a die clash, which is when the obverse and reverse dies strike each other without a planchet between them. This transfers design elements from one die to the other. Any coins struck after the dies have clashed will show the transferred image. In this case, the eagle's wing on the reverse left a clash mark on the obverse that resembles teeth, hence the name "Bugs Bunny".

Out of a total mintage of 8,290,000 1961 Franklin Half Dollars, only 111 have been graded MS64 by PCGS with this FS-401 error! The total FS-401 population in all grades for this year is just 178! This half dollar is 100% white, which only makes it even more stunning. Add this incredible high grade error Franklin to your collection today!

Highlights:
  • FS-401 "Bugs Bunny" error
  • All white coin
  • High grade!
