In Cambodia, clean water reaps a harvest In Cambodia, clean water reaps a harvest

Good News, Now for All

Everyone deserves the hope that good news brings. So from now on, you’ll get to read Good News, our newsletter previously exclusive to members of The Spring, every month. Once a month, you’ll receive an email update from us full of stories from the field, invitations, and updates on our progress toward ending the water crisis thanks to your critical support.

We hope these messages of joy and transformation inspire you and those you love. (And remember, you can view your Lifetime Impact anytime on your personal dashboard.) Thank you for being a part of our community.

From humble beginnings,
a dream fulfilled

For every $1 given to clean water and sanitation, the World Health Organization estimates an economic return of $4 to $12. This makes clean water one of the best investments the global community can make in a more equitable and sustainable human future.

The story of Khloeum Phlam, a 43-year-old mother of two and farmer living in rural Cambodia, illustrates this perfectly. She is just one of the millions of people positively impacted by your support and the work of our local partners around the world.

Now on Netflix: Experience the Walk for Water

Throughout the developing world, women and girls walk an average of 3.7 miles for water every day. The trek is dangerous, carrying the near-constant risk of animal attacks or assault. And, the time lost robs women of valuable opportunities.

Now, their journey is at your fingertips.

Created in partnership with game developer Frosty Pop, This is a True Story is a first-of-its-kind Netflix game that invites you to walk alongside Bontu, a young woman on her daily walk for water. As you travel together through the stunning African countryside—and face countless obstacles along the way— she’ll share her story of resilience and hope.

You can play “This is a True Story” anytime through the Netflix app. Or, you can download it on the App Store and Google Play

Or, you can run for water

In a single month, women and girls living in rural communities will walk an average of 111 miles for water. Do you think you can run 26.2?

We’re excited to offer three race options to the charity: water community in 2022 for experienced and aspiring runners alike. Rally some friends for the Hood to Coast relay through Oregon this summer. Challenge your athleticism with the 4-mile Goliathon obstacle run. Or, join us for the iconic New York City Marathon in November. As you train, you’ll have the opportunity to fundraise for clean water alongside other running enthusiasts. (And did we mention the swag box?)

For more information, fill out these brief forms expressing your interest in either the Hood to Coast Relay or the New York City Marathon.

From the surface, families in Cambodia, game developers in Canada, and runners around the world may seem to have little in common. But the cause of clean water unites us all. Thank you for your support. Together, we’re planting the seeds for an even better future.
