Cronycle notes - critical enablers of insights extraction

Notes have been available in Cronycle for as long as we can remember. But in the last few months, they have been evolved and placed at the centre of intelligence creation. Notes can be used to:

  • Write a research brief for your team on the board, with rich text formatting!
  • Record ideas quickly (and come back to them later).
  • Extract a set of annotations from an article, PDF, or even across several articles in a Story Arc! This is an extremely efficient and easy workflow to collect insights in one editable document, and reorganize them while doing your analysis.
  • Package insights to share where your audience is, such as a Microsoft Teams or Slack channel.
  • Write up new text (like I am doing right now 😇) or use extracted insights to share with your stakeholders via a newsletter in prose rather than content tiles.
  • Draft a post to send to WordPress.

With the ability to easily copy, export and publish notes, you can get your analysis in the right context for consumption and usage.

Google News

Google Alerts now useless - long live Google News!

While Google Alerts have been broken for years (see this FT article from… 2013!), we have noticed it is only getting worst!  Luckily, Google News is a good replacement, in particular when monitoring press releases.

We recommend you replace your old Google Alerts with Google News in your feeds - unless you are among the rare few who are still seeing enough valuable content coming through Google Alerts.

You'll find the tutorial on how to add Google News in your feeds here
