Today, we’re describing how Cronycle can help you make sense of information, uncover and extract insights. This is very close to our heart, as our mission is to help you grow knowledge efficiently.
Annotate content on your boards
While you are reading content saved on your boards on the web application, annotate key points that are insights to you - for example a new data point, a new way to frame information, or simply a good quote. Our annotation tool comes with the option to add a label and inline notes. Check out the dedicated tutorial.
Group into Story Arcs
One article, post or video rarely fully covers a story. Several opinions should be confronted, facts checked and added as events unfold. Group related board items together into “Story Arcs” to keep and publish them together. To start, click on “Group” from the board menu, select the items to group together, and confirm.
Summarize or introduce your viewpoint
Write summaries, visible at the top of each tile, to introduce your perspective on the story, framing it according to your audience’s needs. You can even get help from the auto-summarizer - it grabs key sentences from the content, often containing key expressions and references.
View your insights
We have a view that lets you quickly see all the insights on your board. Simply switch to “Your insights” view from the board menu 4-squares icon.
The view shows, for each board item - title, references, summary, tags, and annotations (with their label). The first time we presented this view, some of our users literally had tears in their eyes - it instantly surfaces data points like no other tool.
Export your insights
Now that you have uncovered your insights, export them to continue your workflow. Filter your board to get the items you need (eg last week), click on “Export”, select “Your insights” and pick the format you want (Rich Text Format for an editable text file, or as Comma-Separated Values for spreadsheet).
