Grow your own Take a cutting from a supermarket herb plant (mint or basil work well), remove the bottom leaves and place in a glass or jar of water. After about a week, tiny roots will appear and you can re-pot into soil to continue growing in the garden or on your windowsill. If you have space in the garden, potted tomato or pepper plants are easy to care for too!
