Dear friend,

Just in case you needed to hear this today—it’s okay to make time for play and self-expression during these wild times. Hope is on the horizon, but that doesn’t mean we don’t need something to charge our batteries back up.

The world is asking us to be courageous right now. And as an Asian American small business owner myself, I am standing proud and tall next to my Asian American brothers and sisters committed to spreading light even when it's easy to get caught in all the dark. We will also be announcing an Asian anti-racism book club in the coming days, so stay tuned for that as well.

But now, it's critical to remember that we are all here on this planet to express ourselves, be together and courageously celebrate life. We have to keep moving forward — and this is why we dance.

So I invite you to take a chance and do something for yourself this Saturday, April 3rd. The Daybreaker fam and I are in our green screen lab putting together a magical, mystical adventure to take you dancing under a vibrant seascape in honor of Earth Month — and it’s going to be the perfect way to start your weekend with energy, intention and joy.

It’s going down from 11am - 1pm ET and you can dive into the two-way livestream from anywhere in the world (my fave thing every time is seeing your creativity on the dance cam). Grab your ticket here and meet us in the waves for a few hours of respite to remind ourselves that together, we are stronger. Tickets support this movement to keep on moving.

I’ll be warming us up with a Joy Practice to make us feel connected, adventurous and alive (bring a blindfold!), and then MC Elliott LaRue will take us on a deep sea dive with DJ Victorien spinning beats to unlock the full ebb and flow of our bodies. The incredible Shawn Hook (who has shared the stage with The Weeknd, Shawn Mendes and more) is also coming to serenade us with his silky vocals.

I’m not sure if you knew this, but exciting research from our science partner and founder of the Greater Good Science Center Dr. Dacher Keltner has shown that dancing together online can actually have the same positive effects as human touch (and spoiler: the benefits are life-giving).

Dancing — especially if you’re not “a dancer” — is one of the most important antidotes for loneliness, anxiety and sadness right now. So I hope you’ll go on this ride with all of us.

We gotta be courageous about our play y'all.

P.S. DOSE Members get free tix for Saturday, so if you want to snag yours and also experience the power of Joy Practices, your first two weeks of DOSE are on us.

See you on the dancefloor.

With love & mischief,
