While visiting family in Homer, AK, over the past 17 years, Linda, an employee at ePromos has seen first-hand the value of a robust community library. When her granddaughters were toddlers, she took them to story time and then watched as they went from checking out stacks of books to participating in the Summer Reading Programs.

Everyone is welcome at the library which supports Homer and the surrounding communities on the Kenai Peninsula, south of Anchorage. There is no charge for the library’s services including nineteen public-use computers and the staff is always friendly and helpful. In 2023 there were 125,675 library visits and 13,504 attendees at their programs.

Last November, Linda was introduced to Judy, a board member of the Friends of the Homer Library (FHL). FHL is a nonprofit organization of dedicated volunteers who support the library and provide many services including a Bookmobile, StoryWalk^®, Art in the Library, well-attended author readings, and special events. There is also a Chess Club, and a Knitting Circle, plus twice a month, anyone can drop by the library with their laptop or e-reader for free tech help.

The ePromos Cares Program supports community charities that ePromos employees are involved in. Through this program, we can help create awareness by donating to these incredible organizations! The FHL has been selected to receive a donation and has decided to use it for new canvas book bags.
