Tasked with designing the entry and stairways of this year’s Brooklyn Heights Designer Showhouse, Jennifer Morris reimagined these transitory spaces as a restorative sanctuary.

A custom Eskayel mural on silk provided the sensory experience of being immersed in foliage, ascending through the trees, and eventually arriving at the ethereal sky.

By evoking a walk through lush urban parks and tree-lined streets, the tranquil scheme is designed to lift the mood like a spell spent in nature. Available on 100% silk, the Prospect mural is a dense composition capturing the feeling of an urban forest.

The sky element of the source artwork is available as Stratus, a repeating pattern in blue with a light-as-air quality.

Prospect and Stratus can serve as standalone patterns or be used together as complementary designs. For instance, drapes in Stratus could play against walls in Prospect.

In the Brooklyn Heights installation, Prospect appears on the first floor with Stratus added to the top to extend the mural’s height up the stairwell.

Located at 182 Clinton Street in Brooklyn, each room in the Brooklyn Heights Designer Showhouse has been dramatically transformed through the creativity of over 15 interior designers from New York City’s celebrated design community.

The showhouse offers a rare look inside a historical Brooklyn townhouse while showcasing the visionary work of contemporary creators. It’s open until November 3.
