How this 13 year old took a stand

Hi ,

I don’t know about you, but as a kid I celebrated Halloween by dressing up, knocking on doors around my neighbourhood, and asking strangers to give me candy. That isn’t the case for Sophia Mathur. She’s 13.

Last year, Sophia and her friends dressed up and walked the streets of Sudbury, Ontario, holding signs calling for action on climate change. Since Halloween is a day to celebrate things that scare us, she felt it was appropriate to bring awareness to her real fear of being in a climate emergency.

What I find interesting about Sophia’s story is that as a young teen, she already recognizes how scary climate change truly is. But she also knows there’s something she (and we) can do about it. (You can read more about Sophia’s lifetime of work here.)

“You need a balance of hope and fear, because if you only live in fear then you’ll believe that there is nothing you can do to save the planet,” said Sophia, who was appropriately dressed as a superhero.

Here at etee, we’re inspired by that kind of hope for a better future. It’s why we produce the products that we do. Plastic-free, planet-friendly stuff, you know?

We should mention that we also love Halloween too. 👻🎃💀

So in honour of this spooky season and continued efforts to help heal our world, we’ve launched a limited-edition of one of our fan-favourites: our beeswax foodwraps!

This smart alternative to plastic wrap comes in sets of three (1 small 7 x8”, 1 medium 10” x 11” and 1 large 12” x 14”) so you can preserve everything from fruits and veggies, crackers and snacks, wraps and sandwiches, and baked good. They can also cover containers of leftovers like a boss!

LIMITED TIME: CLICK HERE FOR 20% OFF

Reusable, biodegradable, plastic-free. Nothing scary about that!

Creep it real, folks!
