I am so excited to share this interview with you! At Fashletics we talk a lot about loving your body for what it can do instead of what it looks like... but how do we actually accomplish that? And how do we stop ourselves from simply replacing one beauty standard with another? Sometimes I feel like even though I've overcome the pressure to be skinny, I end up judging myself for not being strong enough or fast enough instead.

Can you fail at a lift and walk away feeling strong? Can you finish last in a workout and maintain confidence in your fitness? Honestly, I can't always answer "yes" to those questions, and I know I'm not alone. When it comes to truly appreciating out bodies, we all have work to do.

Through her blog, social media, and new book, Katie works with passion and persistence to give people the tools they need to challenge the damaging beauty ideal portrayed in the media. She educates, informs, and empowers girls and women to rise up against media manipulation and teaches them how to protect against it. Check out our interview with Katie and let us know what you think. We'd love to hear your stories of overcoming society's unrealistic beauty (and fitness) standards and how you are working towards living your healthiest life yet!

"The first step for me was to challenge everything I’ve ever been taught as a young girl about health and beauty. I had to de-program in a sense and form a new relationship with my mind, body, and soul. Through my journey, I learned that my value was not determined by my size or how “hot” society thought I was." -Katie
