As you stay clear of shampoo and heat, natural oils can weigh down hair and leave it looking lifeless. No heat curling can put some spring back in those locks. But which is THE BEST method to try? We get asked that a lot. Unfortunately, since everyone's hair is different YOU need to find what works best for YOUR hair.
Here are two suggestions: * Sleeping with hair in a sock bun results in a subtle, natural looking wave. Cut the toe off a sock, roll it into a donut shape, gather hair on top of your head, thread it through the donut hole and (starting at the ends) roll your hair into a bun down and around the sock. You can either use completely dry hair or hair that was rough dried and still a bit damp.
* Pillow rollers give you a soft, bouncy curl. The longer you keep them in and the more wet your hair is, the tighter the curl will be. Since my hair curls easy, I'm able to use them two ways: overnight with completely dry hair or in the morning by wetting the ends of second day hair and leaving them in while I get ready.
You can also use flexi-rods, bobby pins to create pin curls, braids of different sizes or even different types of knots. Have some fun and find out what works best for you! Recommended Products and Additional Info:
