This Irish classic, made famous by everyone from Ernest Hemingway to Steve McQueen, is definitely having a moment. Stay warm this fall with the coziest cable-knit sweater around.
Cable-knitting was developed in the 19th century on the Aran Islands of Ireland by fishermen’s wives to help them brave the harsh coastal conditions.
The textured stitch pattern is crafted by interweaving braids of fabric making it incredibly warm, as well as luxuriously soft. There’s a folklore behind the knits with the cables said to be a wish for safety and good luck.
We gave ours a more modern, slimmed down shape with dark fall colors that look great even if you aren’t working the docks. It’s ideal for that relaxed fall weekend look.
Crafted from a blend of wool and acrylic, this is the sweater that’s built to last a lifetime.
We love cable-knit so much, we used it in our line of 100% cotton tuques (okay, knit caps).
