Our New Canvas Belt Is The Perfect Summer Accessory

We've teamed up with a 3rd generation leather-craftsman to produce our belts right here in Montreal. Raymond, whose grandfather made boots for the French Army, walked us through how the belts go from raw top-grain French cowhide (naturally tanned in Italy) to a stylish piece that keeps your pants off the floor and pulls your look together at the same time.
The cowhide is trimmed across the grain. Cut along the animal's spine and it would stretch out too much. It's run through a slicer that cuts the hide into precise belt-like strips.
The strip is then run through a machine that cuts and cleans the back, punches the holes, cuts the tip and engraves our name into the back.
The leather is beveled to round the edges of the belt, as well as varnished for a soft, smooth feel. The end is skived down so that it can be folded and stitched.
The belt is run through a programmable sewing machine and the threads are then burned with a hot gun. If they aren't, they are liable to come loose. It's the small details that make a major difference in quality.
Et voilà: a handcrafted, genuine leather belt made with old-world quality that never goes out of style.
