T-Mobile breach | Allbirds vs. Amazon | Contract for the Web
SPONSOR MESSAGE: Get ready to win a 'Geek Style Reboot' before the Gala on Dec. 5: Last chance to enter for a day of pampering is Tuesday, Nov. 26

Can cloud technology help the Seahawks win football games? Seattle’s NFL franchise is partnering with local cloud giant Amazon Web Services to provide the team with various database and analytics tools. It’s the latest sports-related deal for Amazon, which also streams NFL games and powers the league’s Next Gen Stats product.

More than 1 million T-Mobile customers had their personal information exposed in a recent breach. No financial data or social security numbers were accessed. The breach comes at an important time for the company as it pushes to close the mega-merger with Sprint.

Allbirds vs. Amazon: "Please steal our approach to sustainability." That's the message from Allbirds CEO Joey Zwillinger to Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, referencing Amazon's private label shoe that looks "strikingly similar" to Allbirds' popular wool sneakers.

Microsoft, Google, Facebook, and others are backing the Contract for the Web, “a global plan of action to make our online world safe and empowering for everyone.” Tim Berners-Lee, credited for inventing the internet, is behind the initiative.
