goop mag #2

In today's goop-zine, we cover some easy DIY hair styles, the PAD design fair in Pareee (be still my heart) and other happenings and tidbits.

Oh! And, as an aside, my business partner Tracy Anderson's (Windsor Smith designed) Brentwood, CA studio opens today! I will pin pics from the soiree.

Dispatches from PAD Paris

Last week, we went to Paris to check out the PAD Fair for some art and design inspiration. It’s a small show, with a selected group of galleries showing some pretty spectacular 20th and 21st Century design pieces and works of art. Here are the standouts:

Maison Darré

A design show in Paris would not be complete without a room full of the modern day surrealist Vincent Darre’s designs, including tables and chairs with bones for legs in the HSBC lounge.

Galerie Maria Wettergren

This gallery, specializing in contemporary Scandinavian design, was a favorite stop.

Loved this Hexagon chair by Rasmus Fenham Furniture and this neon cloud, "Fivefold Happiness," by Astrid Krogh.

The most amazing thing was this photo tapestry of city lights by Grethe Soerenson, who has developed a technique for translating photographic pixels into thread. Check out the close-up.

Lip Balm that Works

From left to right: Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips, Mini Organics Original Nipple Balm, By Terry Or de Rose and Kiehl's Lip Balm #1.

We are constantly on the hunt for the perfect lip balm - one that isn't sticky, doesn't dehydrate, doesn't have an overwhelming scent, and that actually works. We've pounded the pavement and found the best ones ever - and yes, that is nipple balm. Think about it.
