Kors for Celebration

Michael Kors, designer of great American sportswear, was amenable to my humble request to collaborate. I had a dream to tweak/remake some of my favorite MK pieces, which have been in heavy rotation in my closet for years. What I love about them is that they are true investment pieces, tried and tested. Welcome to #MKxgoop.

Love,

gp

Michael Kors x goop

Back in the summer, we met with Michael Kors in New York to discuss our vision for reimagining some favorite, iconic Michael Kors pieces, modernized for a capsule collection made exclusively for us.

Archive Inspiration

The Cape

"For over a decade now, I have had a thick, gorgeous vintage grey cashmere Michael Kors cape, that I always travel with. Funnily enough, I ran into Michael on a flight where he noticed I was rocking his cape, probably in a less chic manner than he would have liked, my six month old daughter and I lay wrapped in it all the way to England."

The Peacoat

"A peacoat is a classic - it never goes out of style. I asked Michael if perhaps we could take his and add gold buttons for some added elegance."

The Peplum

"I still covet many of my old pieces that Michael designed during the 90's, one of which was this gorg camel colored peplum turtleneck in about a million ply cashmere. I asked Michael how we might reinvent it and he came up with a simplified and very modern version."

The Collection

An exclusive view of our favorite looks, with an emphasis on timeless classics, wardrobe staples and the feminine form.

Home for the Holidays

Holiday Recipes

Perfect for holiday pre-dinner bites, these cheese puffs seem impressive and taste delicious but are deceivingly easy to make. Check out a full list of our holiday recipes here...

Cheese Puffs
Adapted from Bon Appetit’s Gruyère Cheese Puffs

We tried quite a few variations (some with pecorino, some with more/less oven time, etc.) and these are the ones that came out best.

Bea Hamburger’s Butter Cookies

Michael gave us the recipe to his grandmother’s delicious butter cookies. Thanks, Bea.

Jewish Delis

We’ve rounded up our top three Jewish delis in NYC and LA.

NYC

Barney Greengrass

Mile End

Russ & Daughters

This classic deli has been around for over 100 years and carries every kind of smoked fish you could hope for.

Montreal-style deli food at its best (think house-smoked meats, brisket, poutine and more).

An institution on Houston with top-notch smoked fish/lox bagels. Take out only or have them cater.

LA

Nate n'Al

Brent's

Fromins

High quality cold cuts, fresh bread and an old-school vibe. We love the turkey on rye.

A popular spot for signature items like the pastrami sandwich with curly fries and matzo ball soup.

A nostalgic Bruce Paltrow favorite, this deli in Santa Monica is a no-frills kind of place...

Garland

Stephanie Schur, owner of Santa Monica’s stunning Botany Flowers, provides modern arrangements below (that are also actually pretty easy to put together) for getting appropriately festive. She helped us spruce up the house for our day with MK - so gorgeous that we asked for more ideas.

Small Arrangement

1) "I use a vintage brass wine goblet, but you can use anything - old mason jars, jam jars or any small vases you have around. Choose 5 to 6 flower stems or pieces of greenery." 2) "Gather the stems in your hand to make a small bouquet. Take the twine and wrap together tightly." 3) "Cut the bottom to make sure the stems are even and the right length to fit in your selected vessel."
4) "The finished product! It doesn't have to be perfect and looks great if it's a little wild."
