Kevin Torres is the Founder and Head Coach of Forging Elite Fathers, a program specifically designed for busy dads who want to go from Dad Bod to Fit Dad without sacrificing family time. Prior to creating Dad Bod WOD on Instagram, Kevin was a middle school vice principal and served two combat tours as an infantryman with the 101st Airborne Division.
You don’t have to spend an hour or two in the gym every day to get into amazing shape. Seriously, all you need is 15-20 minutes a few days a week, some intensity during your workouts, and a sensible nutrition protocol, and you will see amazing results.
As a combat infantryman with the 101st, I’ve air assaulted into multiple combat zones with my nothing but my trusted assault bag on my back, so I know a thing or two about how important rucks can be. I have multiple bags from GORUCK, from the original Rucker to the GR1, and I have to say, the Rucker 4.0 is by far the most comfortable rucksack yet! The biggest difference for me is the upgraded padding on the top of the plate pocket, which keeps the weight safely in place when getting down to do push ups or bear crawls. It also has a new padding on the lower back and upgraded fabric which prevents dreaded friction burn. But more than anything else, the 4.0 just looks frigin’ cool, especially in the Tropic Multicam!

If you’re always pressed for time and wish you had 20, 30 even 60 minutes of uninterrupted time, then becoming an early riser is for you! Start gradually this week by setting an alarm 15 minutes earlier than you normally do. Then have a cup of coffee and enjoy the quiet time to yourself. And while you’re up, you might as well get a quick workout in. So do 10 rounds alternating between 10 push ups and 10 air squats for a total of 100 reps each.
