Have you ever wondered what it would be like to serve aboard a submarine? Are you intrigued by the firepower capabilities of the Royal Navy? You can find all this out and more at our fantastic Gosport museums.

 

The Royal Navy Submarine Museum and Explosion Museum of Naval Firepower, located across the water in Gosport, are included in our Ultimate Explorer Annual Pass. Both museums are open every day during the Hampshire school holidays and Wednesday –Sunday during term time.

Marvel at missiles, take in the torpedoes, and survey the small arms, all within a genuine 18th century armaments depot and discover what it was like to work in munitions factories at Explosion Museum.
 
Drop into our Nighthunters: The Royal Navy’s Coastal Forces at War exhibition and discover stories of daring night-time raids and more.
 
Don’t forget to stop for a cup of tea and a slice of cake in our café Camber Lights with fantastic views of the harbour (open 11am – 3pm).
 
 

Getting To Gosport  

 
Getting to Gosport
There are three ways to get to our Gosport sites:
  • You can drive to HMS Alliance and Explosion Museum, where parking is free 
  • Jump on our waterbus service from Portsmouth Historic Dockyard (weekends only, during - November to March).  
  • Travel across from Portsmouth Harbour via the Gosport Ferry.
With only a 12-minute drive and 40-minute walk between them you can explore both sites in one day!
