Take on Half Term at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard 

Explore the museums and ships this May half term and experience the perfect day out. Take on HMS Warrior then discover the pearl of the Dockyard, the Mary Rose Museum. Little visitors can join us for Bubble Up! at Explosion Museum of Naval Firepower over in Gosport, as well as Hatch’s History Trail at the Mary Rose.

THE ADVENTURE STARTS HERE

Explore the golden age of steam aboard HMS Warrior, the crown jewel of the Victorian Navy. Next, take on the epic tale of the Mary Rose, a saga that spans centuries, rising from the depths of the sea to the Mary Rose Museum.

Continue your exhilarating journey through maritime history at the Royal Navy Submarine Museum and Explosion! Museum of Naval Firepower.

 

Enjoy a scenic ride across the Solent on the waterbus to Gosport the thrill of exploring the depths of the sea aboard HMS Alliance, then witness the awe-inspiring firepower of the Royal Navy up close at Explosion.

With our Ultimate Explorer annual pass, you'll unlock endless excitement as you delve into the heart of naval innovation. Round off your day at Camber Lights, our cafe at Explosion with stunning views across the harbour.   

BUBBLE UP! AT EXPLOSION!

Get ready to burst with excitement as we explore the science of bubbles, only at Explosion this May half term! 

  

Highlights of the day will include: 

• The Highland Joker with fun filled and interactive bubble shows 
• Giant bubble domes containing sensory play, creative and science activities 
• Bubble Explorers play space 
• You can also follow the Bubble Play Trail around the museum to discover fascinating facts about the Royal Navy, STEM and of course bubbles!

HATCH'S HISTORY DETECTIVES

AT THE MARY ROSE 

This May half term the Mary Rose Museum will be launching a brand-new children’s trail, Hatch’s History Detectives! 

  

Join Hatch, the ship’s dog as he leads you through the museum on a multi-sensory exploration of the story of the Mary Rose, her crew and the Tudor world. 

Families can pick up a FREE trail sheet at the start of their visit, through which Hatch will help guide them through the galleries and encourage them to explore the world of the Mary Rose through touch, try on and have a go, smell and lots of interactive and engaging fun!
