Make sure that the most important items on the schedule or list are visible. Put the schedule/list somewhere that will be seen every day. For example, use sticky notes on your computer home screen or physical sticky notes on the front door or refrigerator. Having a visible reminder of what needs to be done is the best way to get it done. Make Deadlines And Stick To Them. Now this may seem like it is the same as creating a schedule, but there is a difference. Making a schedule means creating a list of things that need to get done in the near future. Creating a deadline ensures that the items on the list get done in a timely manner. If you have set meetings and events, make sure you can get to and from them without overlapping with another event. Schedule extra time between events to ensure that you make it on time, and make sure that whatever is planned for the event is done ahead of time. The best way to do this is making a deadline for at least twenty-four hours beforehand. Do One Thing At A Time. Most people believe that multitasking can help them get done faster. Though that may be true, they lose the organization factor and separate items can get mixed together. For example, you may be writing a song and making phone calls to get booked somewhere and all of a sudden, the conversation you had over the phone is now lyrics in the song about heartbreak. If you write the songs first and once they’re perfected, you call, then you can be sure that the conversation does not become a lyrical flop. Say “No.” Sometimes the best thing to do is say “no.” An Artist’s life is never completely stress free, but if you say no to something that you didn’t really want to do, instead of saying yes because you feel obligated to, then there’s a little less stress in your life. Many artists want to say yes to everything because there can never be too much positive exposure. But if you say no, then there is time for you to make sure everything else is organized and that the opportunities that you have lined up, that you want to do, can get done. Put Aside Time To Relax. As an artist you may think, “How is this possible?” Well the facts are, if you never set time aside for yourself to relax, then you will get overstressed and everything will end up being chaotic. A stressed out mind cannot use its full functionality and, therefore, cannot organize things thoroughly. 5 WAYS TO FURTHER YOUR PERSONAL BRAND ON SOCIAL MEDIA 2019 Eliza Christie Develop a cohesive theme: Instagram themes are all about being consistent with your visuals, and it’s built over time. In order to keep a theme, each post should follow a certain color palette and tone. You can manage your theme by editing your pictures with similar filters and effects. Why develop a theme? When potential followers click on your profile, they are more likely to follow you when they see your “aesthetically pleasing” feed. Make a YouTube Channel: Whether it’s for your music or a fun hobby you like to do, creating videos will allow you to connect with people online in a more personal way. Collaborate with others: Reach out to other artists to collaborate, both of you will benefit and gain new followers from the experience. Have a photoshoot, make a video, write music, or just hang out with other artists and post about it! Be sure to tag each other! Keep it short and sweet: When it comes to writing captions, sometimes less is more. It’s okay to write a long sentimental caption every once in a while, but the more you write the less people read them. Try to keep your captions short enough to where they don’t need to be expanded, this will prevent followers from skipping over information. Create a schedule for when to post: Sometimes you have a lot of content, and all you want to do it post it all at once. When you have a lot of content, try to space it out into the periods of time where you know you won’t have as much. Your followers want to be updated, but they can’t be overwhelmed with too much content. Spacing out content will sustain the interests of your followers for a longer period of time.
