In Washington state, health care will be protected.  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

Friend,

Today, the Senate is voting on whether or not to confirm Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett.

All indications point to her being confirmed -- putting the future of reproductive justice and the Affordable Care Act in serious jeopardy.

But what's clear is this: It will come down to state leaders to protect health care, including reproductive freedoms, pre-existing conditions, affordable choice, and more. I've spent my career doing just that, so I'm asking: Will you join me in fighting to protect affordable, accessible health care?

ADD YOUR NAME

In Washington state, we made history last year:

Our public option -- a first-in-the-nation public option we call Cascade Care -- will ensure that Washingtonians have high-quality health insurance and an affordable option available across the state of Washington. Starting in 2021, all carriers on the Washington Health Benefit Exchange will be required to offer at least one state-defined "standard plan," which will limit out-of-pocket costs, provide transparent and predictable cost sharing, and increase the value of federal subsidies.

Because of it, Washingtonians should see lower premiums and lower deductibles than what are being offered today on the exchange, and we can push back against attempts from lawmakers in Washington, D.C. who are trying to limit options nationally for affordable, quality care.

That builds on the bill I signed into law in 2018 that requires all health insurers to cover abortion if they also cover maternity care. It also mandated coverage for every form of birth control, including emergency contraception, without any out-of-pocket costs.

Reproductive health care, including family planning and abortion, is health care. I've always believed that, and it's more important than ever that states do everything they can to support it.

I've worked so hard in Washington state to protect affordable care and reproductive freedom, and I need you by my side to keep fighting: Add your name to recommit to the fight to protect affordable, accessible health care, no matter what happens in the Supreme Court.

Very truly yours,

Jay
