Classic Peach Cobbler

Have you been enjoying summer peaches as much as I have? Juicy and luscious, a perfectly ripe peach is full of potential. You can eat it whole, cut it into fruit salad, grill it for a savory-sweet side dish, and of course, bake with it!

At the mention of peaches, it's next to impossible not to think of cobbler. You can find a version to suit any taste and time budget (though cobbler doesn't ever take much time). I prefer the classic biscuit-y-style version myself, but others might opt for something like this cake-y, southern-style peach cobbler. Or, there's this cobbler-bread pudding hybrid, which I love because it uses up leftover bread. Every baker needs that kind of recipe!

Or, think beyond cobbler. Consider pies and scones, plus many other baking wonders. I've been waiting to make this Moravian coffeecake (or sugar cake) ever since someone raved about it to me. This weekend feels like the perfect occasion since the peaches I'm buying at the moment come from Pennsylvania, where Moravian settlements are strong. If that feels like too much of an endeavor, try these spiced peach muffins instead. They make a luxurious breakfast served warm from the oven, and they're also handy grab-and-go treats for the days ahead. After all, a little peachy goodness can only make life better!
