KnitCrate Dyer Highlights For The Love of Yarn
Indie Dyers Making Magic

Inspired By June's Getaway Theme

Every month, our indie dyer friends use Dyer Supplier yarns to create some truly beautiful color ways.

Inspired by June's theme and inspiration board...

Khari Baoli

Khari Baoli

Heather Fiege of Pumpkins and Wool was inspired by Khari Baoli, a street in Delhi, India that is known for its HUGE array of wholesale goodies. Vendors take the street, selling their spices, nuts, herbs and teas. Talk about a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon!

Pictured Rocks

Monica Thoune of UP North Yarns was inspired by Pictured Rocks National Lakeshores, a jewel of beauty in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The sunset boat cruise from Lake Superior's Munising Bay is an unforgettable experience and the best way to see the dramatic multicolored sandstone cliffs. This yarn captures those soft colors perfectly.

Available on Pretty Fine Non-superwash DK from Dyer Supplier.

Morning Glory Pool

Morning Glory Pool

Elke Morris from Witchy Weaves Fiber has us traveling west to visit this special location in yarn-form. This colorway was inspired by the Morning Glory Pool in the Upper Geyser Basin of Yellowstone National Park. The pool can have many different colors but the image we used as inspiration had tones of rust browns, moss green and 3 different shades of blue.

Dyed on BFL Fingering Superwash from Dyer Supplier.

Scarif

Scarif

Tracie from Force Fibers explained to us that she was took inspiration for this colorway from the planet Scarif in Stars Wars Rogue One, which you wouldn't want to spend vacation on right now...(spoilers it was destroyed by the Death Star). It is also inspired by her childhood growing up in Florida where a beach trip could be any day of the week.

This colorway was dyed on Dyer Supplier SW Sport Merino.

Turquoise & Terracotta

Turquoise & Terracotta

Andrea from Woolen Woman Fibers created skeins of Turquoise & Terracotta this month. This colorway was inspired by the rich colors of terracotta earthenware, masks and artworks that have been crafted by ancient and modern world people of various races and cultures. Turquoise and Terracotta represents the rich earthenware that was held, crafted, and passed around by hands of all different colors in hopes it will be a reminder to be KIND and to love ALL people regardless of differences- as hands of all colors have the ability to craft beauty that brings us together as people. This special colorway was made in collaboration with SamiSewsCreations and is available for purchase with an exclusive terracotta pot progress keeper, hand painted and crafted with love, just like the original terracotta pots!

This colorway is available on a variety of bases including 100% Superwash Merino Wool DK weight from Dyer Supplier.

S'mores

Tanya Greb from Pink Adobe Dyeworks has been busy dying yarn yarn getaways of severay kinds this month!

First up is S'mores, her nod to a getaway of hiking, camping, and childhood (or adulthood) memories of roasting marshmallows over an open fire. And, seeing how most camping is done among the solitude of majestic pines of a forest, skeins of Blue Spruce are also shown. These will be available for purchase separately or as a set.

Versailles

Tanya also has us venturing off to France with these skeins. These are coordinating skeins that can "getaway" together, but are being offered up as singles. Shown here is Versailles, a variegated colorway of black and cream with blue, pink, and soft gold speckles.
Versailles

Coordinating with Versailles are Louis, a tonal blue; Marie-Therese, a creamy gold tonal; and Antoinette, a tonal pink.

Each of these yarns from Pink Adobe Dyeworks are available on these Dyer Supplier bases: 75/25 SW Merino/Nylon Fingering,  100% Merino SW Sport, and 100% Merino SW DK.
