Shiraz & Allies Vive la France Seriously Italian Unreserved Cellared Perfection Single Vendor High-end & Eclectic Single Vendor
1945 is one of the most momentous 20th Century global events, so a Bordeaux from this year is a handsome bottle indeed. The 1945 Château Talbot 4me cru classé St-Julien in our Vive la France auction looks its age with its evocative label, and is an impressive talking point for any serious collection.
The festive season saw an incredible string of sales records on some of the country's most sought-after and storied wines. No single auction saw more interest than that of Wendouree – the final tranche of Langton's highly anticipated Classified Series. Wendouree sits alone at the pinnacle of wineries that demand cult-like status among our customers.
The winery and its owners, Tony and Lita Brady, are famous for hedonistic yet balanced reds, a membership community that's near impossible to infiltrate, and a fastidious eye for perfection that's unsurpassed. Highlights from the auction included the famous 1998 Cabernet that went for 42% over reserve, and a bottle of the brilliant, rare 1986 Shiraz (estimate $180) that went for a whopping $261.
Unless otherwise stated, all cases are sold as advertised. Savings are calculated using full price minus sale price. Full price has been calculated based on bottle prices supplied by each individual winery, and where relevant takes into account exchange rate. All point scores are current as of 10/01/21.
