Lights, camera, photoshoot!

We had a very special event at Librio recently which we wanted to share with you. We always need new imagery for our social media accounts and our website, so we felt it was high time for a photoshoot!

20 kids came from far and wide along with 7 Librio team members and two photographers for a day of fun, props, smiles, tears, Smarties and lots and lots of photos.

Curious to see what went on behind the scenes? We've prepared a sneak peek for you, but don't forget to say CHEEEEESE!

Cheeeeeeese!

Reading aloud - more than just a nice ritual

How is it a surprise every year that it gets dark so early in September? We’re rapidly getting to the point where we have to say adieu to summer and hello to autumn.

Reading together is an especially nice ritual when the evenings are longer and somehow cosier, but reading aloud isn’t just about bringing people together. It also inspires little ones to use their imagination and to interpret things in different ways. Not only that, did you know that reading aloud also broadens a child’s vocabulary and improves their social skills?

In this month's blog article we’ve compiled seven interesting facts about reading aloud with your little ones.

Librio Library #27 – How to Hide a Lion – Helen Stephens

Every month, we introduce one of our favourite books from Librio's own library, which we use as inspiration for creating our own books.

Help! A lion is loose in the town! The townspeople are terrified… However, the fact that our lion is a gentle, harmless creature who only came to town to buy a hat goes unnoticed! Only a little girl called Iris realises that the lion is completely harmless and decides to take him under her wing and hide him in her house! How long can it go on for though?

"How to Hide a Lion" is a lovely little picture book. It’s a heartwarming, amusing story and you can read all about it in our blog article.

I want to see the lion!
