When you think Old World Wine making regions many think of France, Italy and Spain. But did you know winemaking in Macedonia dates back to the 13th century BC? Winemaking blossomed into the Kingdom of Mecedon and Roman eras and continues to this day. Macedonia has the perfect wine growing climate with around 300 days of sunshine and very fertile soil. Macedonia belongs in the III-C-b wine producing zone, the same as the south of France, Corsica, Spain, and southern Italy. So if you're looking for something different to pair with dinner, give Macedonian wines a try.

Big rich nose of spicy oak and black fruit character. Tons of velvety, concentrated fruit, smart tannins and structure; well made.

Wine Tasting Notes
Dark red color with purple reflection. Complex aromas of dry blackberries, raspberries and dry plums. Ideally balanced acids with soft tannins, which make this wine full and extractive with a powerful structure and a long juicy finish.

Grape Varietals: 65% Kratosija, 35% Vranac. Alcohol 15%

Vineyard Notes
A blend of two indigenous varieties, Kratoshiya (pronounced krat-oss-SHEE-yah) has the same genetic origins as the Italian Primitivo variety. Vranec (pronounced VRANash) translates as 'black stallion' and wine made from this grape variety is associated with strength and opulence. The double Guyot trained vines are grown in a hilly plot with a south eastern orientation. 

Planted in well drained volcanic soils, the roots extend to a depth of 1.2 metres, where the soil is enriched with carbonates, minerals. This complex nutrition level imparts richness to the resulting wines. The vines are green harvested before véraison in order to further concentrate the flavours within the grapes. Harvest is undertaken manually, in order to ensure the grapes are picked at their optimum maturity.

The wine shows layered aromas of rose petals, juniper berries and fine spices. On the palate the acidity is balanced and the tannins are silky, leading to a long finish.

The Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir fruit is a blend of Pommard and Dijon clones from carefully selected vineyards within the region. The Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir is medium-bodied with cherry, strawberry and plum nuances; surrounded by light toast flavors. On entry, the wine displays bright cherry and berry flavors with earthy and sweet oak notes throughout the mid-palate. The spicy finish lingers on the palate framed by fresh fruit and silky round tannins.

100% Pinot Noir. Alcohol 13.5%

A blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot and 4% Malbec, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon has a deep garnet-purple color. The nose absolutely sings of warm blackcurrants, black cherries and mulberries plus fragrant suggestions of chocolate box, lilacs and licorice. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is laden with energetic, crunchy black fruit flavors, framed by ripe, fine-grained tannins and loads of freshness, finishing long and perfumed. What a bargain price for this classic Napa Cab beauty!

Deep ruby in color with intense dark fruit aromas of ripe black cherry, black currant and plum interlaced with complex notes of sweet herbs, clove, vanilla, dark chocolate, and toasty oak. Blackberry, cocoa, and black peppercorn unite on the layered palate with complex notes dark berry and cassis with highlights of bay, anise and mocha. Full yet elegant on the palate, with vibrant fruit and very approachable tannins with hints of nutmeg and vanilla bean add to the long persistent finish.
