An Angry Liver?

I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase ‘an angry liver’ I love words and sayings because most of the time they have their roots in truth and deeper meaning. Our liver does indeed store the emotion anger and that’s why often people who suppress their emotions, are unable to communicate, have trauma and so on develop health issues and issues with particular organs. Now our health is multifaceted and there are many different factors to consider like your environment, relationships, quality of food, sleep, job, exercise, stress and so on. Healing requires looking at your health from all angles and not just focusing on the symptoms or problem at hand. Our organs are actually very good at detoxing themselves and your body always wants to be in a state of healing. The problems start when your system is overwhelmed, and we are exposed too and taking in far too many toxins for our system to be able to cope with. So, as you either enter or continue your healing journey, be kind to yourself and notice as you heal the emotions that surface. Don’t be afraid of them, after all, you must feel to truly heal.

Dance psychologist Dr Peter Lovatt of the University of Hertfordshire explains that dancing stimulates us physically and emotionally and you get a much bigger release of endorphins than during other forms of exercise.
