API Changeover

Hi there,

The Mapillary community and our vision for the future continue to grow, and we’re updating our Terms of Use (“Terms”) and Privacy Policy to reflect these and other changes. These updates go into effect June 9, 2021. Your continued use of the service after that time constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms and receipt of the updated Privacy Policy.

Among other things, the updated Terms better explain our services and what we ask of everyone using Mapillary, including ways in which commercial entities and developers can use our services. The Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy better clarify our information practices.

Updates include:

• License. We’ve consolidated commercial and developer terms into the Terms and clarified the licenses that apply to the use of our services, research datasets, and other content.
• Age Requirements. We stated a specific age requirement at 16 years of age.
• Businesses. Our terms now make clear that, if you are using the service on behalf of a company or organization, that specific business accepts the Terms. We also explain ways in which commercial entities can use the services and the obligations they have if they do so.
• Developers. We added terms that apply to the use of our Developer Tools, creation of client IDs, and attribution requirements.
• Removal of Terms Related to Retired Features. We removed terms related to retired parts of the service, such as Marketplace and Capture Projects.
• Information About You. We shortened and reorganized the Privacy Policy. For example, we consolidated information into clearer sections. And we updated the Cookie Policy to clarify how we use cookies and similar tracking technology.
