It looks like once upon
a time everything was just more simple.
The life itself,
relationships, challenges, and even beauty.
Let's take a closer look
at what has been changed during the last centuries in a way we approach our
beauty routine.
Once
~
All skincare was freshly
made from the ingredients found in nature or kitchen. Some of the most
popular are clay, mud, honey, milk, salt, oils, extract from fruits and
vegetables.
Today
~
Emmm.... it's sad but
we've gone very far from what it has to be once. There are tons of
chemicals in beauty products today, everything placed in jars and bottles
and ready to spend 2-3 years on supermarkets' shelves. Ingredients that
inside are far from being pure and even natural labeled products are not
always safe.
Once
~
Taking care of skin was
kind of ritual - all woman from household have been gathering together and
helping each other in preparation and application of different beauty
recipes, kind of celebration of self-care and love.
Today
~
Most of the time we apply moisturizer
automatically and run out of the house for work or errands.
Once
~
Deep understanding that
beauty needs to be maintained and taken care of. No shortcuts, no quick
fixes. Day after day, having a beauty routine that includes massage with
oils, relaxation, and different homemade masks was a promise for a
long-lasting beauty and healthy looking skin.
Today
~
Most of the time we buy
products because we have been promised to get desired results. We "need" to
get rid of something, it's not about "taking care" anymore.
~
So what we are trying to say here?
There are
plenty of reasons why we got to the point we are at now. Life is very busy,
we don't have as much time as we wish, we not really aware about
possible outcomes of
using chemicals or impact on the environment.
~
Let's go back in time, at least for a
little bit, and maybe adopt some of the old ancient approaches into our
life. Let's make everything a little bit more simple and easier. Less
rushing more taking care. Fewer chemicals, more homemade and clean beauty
products. Less 'getting results' approach, more 'being in the process of
taking care'. The time passes anyway, meantime we can learn to be
here.
