Peet’s Coffee
Organic Earl Grey
At least two tea companies claim to have the original recipe of Earl Grey, but we’re not one of them. The husband and wife founders of Mighty Leaf developed an updated take on Earl Grey by following their own sensibilities—and they got it right. Ours is a balanced citrusy, honey, and woodsy cup that won’t clobber you with flavor, but rather entice with subtlety.

Organic Earl Grey
Many people who drink Earl Greys don’t know that it is indeed a “flavored” tea, one of the oldest and enduring recipes anywhere. The permutations are vast, but the citrusy flavor of pressed bergamot oil is generally de rigueur. Its sharp, perfume-y, grapefruit aroma is the first thing that greets you when you open the tin or tea pouch.
What makes ours different? Italian bergamot from the world’s sole organic producer, for one, and a tea selection that is both organic and unique, with a woodsy, sweet and rich, whole-leaf black tea from southern China providing the base and depth of the blend. It’s paired with high-grown Rwanda leaves for a tangy briskness that folds perfectly into the tart bergamot.  Paying attention to the harmony of all the ingredients is what we believe sets us apart.
Earl Grey Cranberry Sauce
Earl Grey Cranberry Sauce
At Mighty Leaf, we’ve found our Earl Grey tea makes an excellent secret ingredient. Its tang and briskness take cranberry sauce to the next level.
12 oz cranberries
1 cup sugar
1 cup Organic Earl Grey concentrate
1 fresh orange sliced into wheels
Prepare Organic Earl Grey Concentrate:
  1. Bring one cup of water to a boil and steep two Organic Earl Grey tea bags (or 2 tsps loose leaf tea). Infuse 10 minutes.
To prepare sauce:
  1. In a small saucepan, combine the concentrate, cranberries, and sugar.
  2. Bring to a simmer stirring occasionally until the sugar is dissolved and the cranberries are soft.
  3. Arrange the orange slices on top of the cranberry sauce and continue cooking until the berries burst.
  4. Cool and serve. Enjoy!
