Musebooks & Brussels Airlines

For Musebooks, the sky’s the limit when it comes to spreading the wonders of the digital art book reading experience to new audiences. Thanks to a new partnership with Brussels Airlines, Musebooks is achieving new heights: as part of the 2019 commemoration of the career of Flemish artist Pieter Bruegel, Brussels Airlines has commissioned an Airbus A320 decorated by contemporary fine artists using inspiration from some of Bruegel’s master paintings and has teamed up with Musebooks to bring Bruegel to their friendly fliers.

Not only are Brussels Airlines passengers treated to copies of Bruegel in Detail in their seats but they are also offered a free copy of one of four digital art books from the Musebooks catalogue. This initiative - now celebrating its sixth master of Belgian art - is a marvelous means to bring new attention to Bruegel and also to Musebooks and our ongoing effort to continue to expand digital art book readership.

The Essential Duchamp (Art Gallery of New South Wales)
Exhibition

A crucial voice of the early twentieth-century Dadaist movement, Marcel Duchamp broke new artistic ground in his embrace of the contemplation of the role of art in the modern world. The Art Gallery of New South Wales is celebrating this genius with the exhibition, “The Essential Duchamp,” on view until 11 August 2019. Originally debuting at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, this traveling international showcase of Duchamp’s work is one of the largest to go on display in the Asia-Pacific region and charts the course of the fascinating figure’s career through an assembly of more than 100 works from the artist’s oeuvre.

If a sojourn to Sydney is out of reach, then Musebooks recommends considering Duchamp in the context of his era with a read of Art of the 20th Century. This book offers a dynamic and fast-paced look and the amazing innovation of modern artists including figures like Duchamp.
