Singapore, the island country in Southeast Asia, lies just 85 miles from the equator, on the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula. Our very own Emi Moore spent her holidays in the country's tropical rainforest climate, and we jumped on the chance to learn more about this highly urbanized and diverse island. Follow along as we find out more about the culture, cuisine, and everything in between in Singapore.
Dutch photographer Viviane Sassen spent her formative years in a place full of vivid colors, sharp sunlight, and pure, quiet darkness. Her childhood memories would forever follow her in dreams, and through her work have come alive in images. For Sassen, Africa is a place that stays with you, and she's spent an impressive career creating bodies of work that recall the graphic shapes and bright colors that will always be Kenya to her.
Our friend Chris grew up a military kid that moved a lot but Richmond is the only place he would call home. After studying art direction at the VCU brand center, he graduated, moved to Brooklyn and started working at McKinney as an art director. Besides work, Chris likes to draw, play ping pong, and can name all the countries of the world according to sporcle. He's got such great taste in everything from style to girls to music, that we asked him for a new playlist for the brand new year.
