Counting our blessings in 2020

Email sent: Nov 26, 2020 3:02pm

2020 has been a doozy!!  As we officially enter the holiday season, we wish you and yours full plates and hopeful hearts. And if - like many of us - you can’t gather with your loved ones or are just feeling the weight of it all, please know that you have our love.

Our team took some time to reflect and find the light in 2020, and we're sharing their lists below. We welcome you to respond to this email with your own reflections.

SHELLEY – Explorer

With a year filled with loss, cancellations and unease, I've learned: my running shoes and a trail can renew the spirit, a tiny LEGO possesses unlimited magic and creativity, puppy breath has healing powers, and love and laughter can travel in many ways, even if we can’t.

ENID – Designer

In a year that has given us all some practice in the art of “pivoting” and dished out its fair share of “you don’t get to,” I have appreciated having my attention drawn to the little things that might not have happened in “normal” times…Friends that play “Ding & Dash” during quarantine leaving warm homemade burritos on your doormat with a poem attached. A DJ bestie in NYC that will pull out her turntables to do an impromptu solo dance party for my little guy via video call. Feeling lucky because I could just go on and on.

NIKKI – Marketing Manager

Whoa, 2020! Thanks for the lessons in privilege. Thanks also for showing me that it really is okay to accept help and not do all of the things. Finally, thanks for the simpler scope of pandemic life and for narrowing my focus to what truly matters - family, friendship, and working toward better health (for myself, our country, and our planet). It’s coming.

CHELLE – Zen Bookmaster

I am so grateful for the community of friends and family that have sustained me during another year on this planet. I’ve explored my own backyard more this year than ever and found beauty in the natural world that brings me to tears.

MOLLI – Wholesale Account Ambassador

reminders to be grateful - honesty - vulnerability - the necessity to look at my place and privilege in the world - parenting with my husband - coffee - my husband - humor - hope - my sister - mountains and hills to climb - baby steps - my parents - my kid - reminders to be grateful

JENI – Office Manager

In this topsy-turvy and unprecedented time, I’ve come to really appreciate the simple, yet important things in my life: a healthy body; laughter; the beauty of Mother Earth; my meditation practice; and my beloved family and friends and the technology that enables me to stay connected with them.

ASHLEY – Co-Founder and Choreographer

I’m grateful my eyes have been opened in new ways to racism in the air that I breath. I’m grateful that our small business is surviving this pandemic. And I’m grateful for my close people - we are lifting each other up in surprising and sweet new ways.

CHRISTINE – Co-Founder

For blue skies, each time the smoke or clouds clear. For changing seasons reminding me that life is humming along despite politics or upheaval. For walks with friends. For my neighbors whose company has kept the year joyful. For family, despite that they aren’t all near.

We remain grateful for your support, today and always. We’ve got this, together!!

With love and thanks from all of us at Nuu-Muu
