Update on My Brothers Keeper Alliance Leadership

My pending transition

Greetings friends and colleagues,

I hope this note finds you and yours safe, well and enjoying the waning days of summer. I’m writing to provide a brief update on my pending transition.

As you know, in June I was nominated to lead AmeriCorps, a position that requires Senate confirmation. Should I be fortunate enough to be confirmed, I anticipate departing the Foundation in mid-to-late fall. While we cannot be sure of the outcome of this confirmation process, we have started preparing for the possibility of a transition to ensure there is no interruption to our work.

Welcome our Interim Executive Director
We are pleased to share that Niiobli Armah IV has stepped in to serve as the interim Executive Director of MBK Alliance. Niiobli is the founder and principal of We-Collab, a social change organization that provides professional services to help organizations operationalize equity, and one of the few people that has worked with My Brother’s Keeper almost since its establishment.

Niiobli will gradually take over leadership in the runup to my anticipated departure. He will report to Executive Vice President of Civic Engagement Michael Strautmanis and work in close partnership with our Advisory Council, chaired by Broderick Johnson, and Deputy Director of Strategy and Operations Beverly Brooks.
